Senior Manager, Advanced Manufacturing

Salary: HK$62,950 per month 
(Ref: ISO/01/2023)

Invest Hong Kong is looking for a dynamic, high-calibre and passionate professional to join us as Senior Manager, Advanced Manufacturing.  You will drive investment promotion activities in this field and “connect the dots” amongst stakeholders.  You will leverage your sector knowledge, industry experience and network to promote Hong Kong as an advanced manufacturing/  new industrialisation destination with ample opportunities for business expansion, investment and talent.  Working with our global network and a wide range of partners, you will attract and support leading companies in the advanced manufacturing industry from the Mainland and overseas to set up and/or expand their operations in and via Hong Kong.

You will need to demonstrate:
(a)    good knowledge and prior project or work experience in relation to manufacturing industry (such as industrial design, manufacturing operation, manufacturing technology and solution, equipment and/or service provider, consultancy support, funding applications, etc.) gained in Hong Kong, Mainland and/or overseas.  Good knowledge and experience in advanced manufacturing would be an advantage;
(b)    strong business acumen and solid experience in marketing and business development, gained in related fields;
(c)    solid experience in handling client-facing activities, and proven track record of developing and managing strong collaboration with key ecosystem stakeholders;
(d)    excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and public speaking skills; and
(e)    knowledge and good understanding of Hong Kong’s business environment.  Familiarity with business opportunities and dynamics in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Mainland and Belt and Road would be an advantage.

Duties
(a)    To develop, implement and support promotional activities in advanced manufacturing/ new industrialisation sector to position Hong Kong as a leading advanced manufacturing hub;
(b)    To achieve performance targets, and to provide value-added services to help Mainland and overseas companies to set up and/or expand in Hong Kong, and conduct aftercare services;
(c)    To engage with the advanced manufacturing/ new industrialisation ecosystem stakeholders to enhance our relationships and to raise our profile in this industry;
(d)    To keep abreast of advanced manufacturing/ new industrialisation sector knowledge and market development, and to develop sales messages, presentations, and marketing materials; and
(e)    To perform administrative tasks and ad hoc duties as required.

Entry Requirements
(a)    A minimum of five years’ full-time work experience in account management, business development, consulting, project management and/or sales and marketing in relation to manufacturing industry (such as industrial design, manufacturing operation, manufacturing technology and solution, equipment and/or service provider, consultancy support, funding applications, etc.) gained in Hong Kong, Mainland and/or overseas;
(b)    Good business networks in the industrial sector; 
(c)    Knowledge and good understanding of Hong Kong’s business environment, knowledge of and experience in investment promotion, marketing communications or economic development would be an advantage;
(d)    Excellent communication skills in English is a must.  Fluency in Cantonese and/or Putonghua is highly desirable.  Proficiency in another language will be an advantage; and
(e)    A Bachelor’s degree from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent, preferably in business or engineering-related subjects.

Terms of Appointment 
Successful applicant will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for normally 24 months.  Renewal of contract will be subject to the service need of the department and the performance and conduct of the applicant.

Fringe Benefits
(a)    An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract.  Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will equal 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period; and
(b)    Applicant appointed will be granted 14 days of annual leave.  Other benefits, such as rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), maternity/ paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted mainly in line with the provisions of the Hong Kong Employment Ordinance.
